Vet for Pet Animal Hospital provides a life-long program of wellness care to ensure your furry family members stay healthy. From their earliest months of life on through to their golden years, regular wellness exams make up a big part of your pet’s continued wellbeing. Puppies and kittens have different needs than adult pets, which is why we tailor every wellness exam to your animal’s specific situation.
Our pets physically age more quickly than we do. You may have heard that, in some common species and breeds, they age the equivalent of seven years in just twelve calendar months. Because of this, physical changes and diseases often develop and progress rapidly in our pets. Senior cats and dogs often require more regular wellness exams to make sure they’re in continued good health. Dr. Ali can help determine the ideal visit frequency depending on your pet’s personal needs.
Our goal with regular wellness exams is to help identify problems and initiate treatments early. During these visits, we perform a thorough physical examination of your pet in conjunction with necessary vaccinations and a parasite screening. Working together, we can make sure your pet stays healthy and by your side for a long time to come.
Wellness Exams Benefit
An added benefit of regular comprehensive wellness exams is protecting the rest of the family from certain health dangers. Intestinal parasites are not only a common cause of illness in dogs and cats, in many cases these parasites are zoonotic (able to cause disease in humans). Children are especially susceptible to hookworms and roundworms, which can cause blindness. It’s an essential part of animal care to routinely test and treat our pets for these parasites. Our clinic performs a parasite examination for each pet during their annual wellness examination.
